Billy Childs

Mr. Billy Langston Childs, age 83 of Macclenny, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013. Mr. Childs was a switchman for CSX Railroad for 35 years and also owned a well drilling company. He was a member of Riverview Masonic Lodge #306 in Jacksonville. He enjoyed going shrimping in his free time and loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife: Gail Moore Childs of Macclenny; daughters: Charlotte (Richard) Mobarak of New Mexico, Susan (George) Nowlen and Barbara Knight both of Macclenny; sister: Betty Jo Bowen of Jacksonville; eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty; brother, Willie B.; sisters: Faye, Mary, and Frances; and great granddaughter: Madisyn Nowlen. Funeral services will be held graveside at 2:00pm, Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Willacoochee City Cemetery, Willacoochee, Georgia. The family will receive friends at 11:00am, Thursday, July 25, 2103 at Forbes Funeral Home Chapel, 380 N. Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL.
