Burley Harold Peters, known affectionately as “Harold” or “Booger” in the hunting woods, passed from this life on Monday, August 11, 2025 under the care of Community Hospice, age 68. Harold was a lifelong resident of Baker County, the son of Burley Byrd Peters and Shirley Faye Richardson born on September 22, 1956.
Harold worked in construction for many years and spent time as a pulpwooder. He was an avid hunter and loved watching NASCAR races. Above all, Harold cherished spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.
Harold leaves behind his beloved wife of thirty three years, Tina; daughter, Brandi Peters of Live Oak; grandchildren, Charles (Lauren) Peacock and Breanna Peacock; great grandkids, Paizlee, Ava, Karter, Weston, and Jon-Burley; a brother, Thomas Byrd of Macclenny; a sister, Debbie Peters of Jacksonville; and a niece, Carie Rhoden.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Chaplain Terry Yerby officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.
