Catherine Ramona Leighton

Catherine Ramona Leighton, 96 of Glen St. Mary, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Catherine was born on December 15, 1929 to Johnny and Myrtle (Meeks) Amerson, Sr. in Bradenton, Florida.

Catherine was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed golfing and fishing in her younger years. She also loved playing bingo and tending to her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Leighton, Sr.; Donald, Jr.; one grandson; and siblings, Remus, Jr., Beau, Doyce, Inez, and Joyce.

She leaves behind her son, Larry (Kelly) Leighton of Macclenny and three grandchildren.

Final memorialization will be by cremation.
