Derek Courtland Steppig

Mr. Derek Courtland Steppig, age 54, of Macclenny, FL passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 30th at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Steppig was born in Lansing, Michigan and has lived in Baker County for the last 21 years. He was a very adventurous person and enjoyed snowmobiling, water skiing, racing and mud runs. Mr. Steppig was a Chevy enthusiast and loved animals.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lynn Thompson. Mr. Steppig is survived by his daughters, Dacia Steppig and Kaylynn Carr both of Macclenny, FL: brothers, Lee Steppig (Trish) of Sagola, Michigan and Kirk Steppig (Nikki) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin: grandchildren, Blakely Burnsed and Emberlynn Smajic: four nephews, Mike (Taylor) Steppig, Chad Steppig (Rachael) both of Macclenny, FL, Justin Steppig of Ohio, David (Donica) Steppig of Sagola, Michigan. His two beloved cats, Darlene (his girlfriend) and Loki also survive.

A service for Mr. Steppig will be held at a later date. The staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home is honored to serve the family during their time of loss.
