Doris Jean Koon passed from this life and into eternal rest on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at W. Frank Wells Nursing Home, age

89. She was born in Winfield, AL, on June 30, 1937, to James C. and Ollie (Howard) Flowers. Doris worked for many years at ACE Hardware and Sunshine Truck Stop in Yulee, FL.

Doris enjoyed the mountains and she was most content when she was surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and siblings. Also preceded by the father of her children, Samuel Joseph McKinnon and children Samuel Joseph McKinnon, Jr, Kenneth Edward McKinnon, George Wayne McKinnon, and Regina Diane Leggett and stepson Michael Koon.

She is survived by her husband Lewis Koon and children, Timothy Mark (Lesia) McKinnon, Linda Sue Roy, James Michael (Ann) Mckinnon, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 2nd at 10:30 AM followed by a short service at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Ramondetta officiating.

Internment will follow at Hughes Cemetery at 1:00PM in Yulee, FL.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the funeral directors and staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny.
