Dwane Rodney Lucas

Dwane Rodney Lucas, 78 of Macclenny, passed from this life on Monday, May 26, 2025 at the Community Hospice Douglas Center for Caring. Dwane was the son of Carroll and Dora (Carper) Lucas, born in Huntington, West Virginia on June 13, 1946. He worked for many years as a hydraulic mechanic and retired from United Steel Workers Company. Mr. Lucas enjoyed going to the drag races and auctions, as well as watching NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Billy, Eugene, Charles, James, Kathleen, Evelyn, Darrell, Danny, and Frances; son, David Cunningham; and his wife Maxine Sallas Lucas.

He is survived by his children, Mitchell (Loretta) Cunningham of Patterson, Georgia, Roy (Anne) Cunningham of Switzerland, and Diane (Leroy) Smith of Macclenny; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; as well as extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Macedonia Cemetery at 1:00 PM with Rev. David Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery at 12:30 PM.
