Earl Harris

Earl Harris, 79 of Macclenny, passed from this life after an extended illness on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital. Earl was born on June 8, 1946 to Mr. Lacy and WealthyAnn Griffis Harris. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County and attended Baker County schools. He would work for the Glen Nursery for the majority of his life and was a loyal and dedicated employee.

Earl loved the Lord and would share the Word with anyone who would listen. “Uncle Earl”, as he was known best by family, was one who would go out of his way and was willing to sacrifice for his family and close friends. He enjoyed bird hunting and fishing, and had a love for animals, especially his little dog, Petey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lacy Harris, Jr., Cecil Harris, L.C. Harris, Raleigh Harris, Lonnie Harris, Ray Harris, and Bobby Harris; and one sister, Retha Mae Harris.

He is survived by one brother, Raymond Harris; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 12:00 PM Glen Friendship Tabernacle with Pastor Albert Starling officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at South Prong Cemetery.
