Edgar Irving Brinkley, 68 of Fort Valley, Georgia, passed from this life on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in the comfort of his home. Born on April 10, 1957, Edgar was the son of Adolphus and Mildred (Crawford) Brinkley and grew up in Baker County. He was a 1975 graduate of Paxon High School. Edgar worked for many years in landscaping, most notably as a groundskeeper at the Orange Park Golf Course and Country Club. He enjoyed tinkering and working in his yard at home in his free time, and was also an avid hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Nancy Eddins, Emogene Strong, and Clair Brinkley.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Tricia Brinkley of Fort Valley; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Byron (Sherree) Brinkley of Macclenny and his twin sister, Martha Buehler of Fort Payne, Alabama; as well as nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM at North Prong Cemetery with Rev. Arnold Johns officiating.
