Esther Belle Thomas

Esther Belle Thomas, a longtime Baker County resident, departed this life and entered into her heavenly home on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the age of 94. She was the widow of the late Reverend Lawton Thomas, longtime pastor of the Macclenny Church of God. She and Pastor Thomas also served as travelling evangelists, spreading the gospel as part of their calling. An avid reader, she had an impressive collection of books, and she loved gardening and tending to her flowers. 

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents: Samuel and Daisy Wiggins Browder; two brothers and three sisters. 

Funeral services to honor her life will be held Friday, June 27, 2025 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Shannon Conner officiating. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Cemetery, Lake Jeffery Road, Lake City.
