Glenda Joyce Williams Chism, 83 of Moniac, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026. Glenda was the daughter of Henry and Annie Bell (Clark) Williams, born on February 8, 1943. Ms. Glenda was a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She was a faithfully attending member of Moniac Baptist Church since 1972, where she volunteered for vacation Bible school and was part of the ladies sewing circle. She tended her garden and enjoying canning her vegetables and sharing them with family and friends. She enjoying entertaining and cooking meals at her home.
In her younger years, Glenda enjoyed traveling to the mountains with her husband, Benjamin. She looked forward to Christmas every year and providing a magical experience for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Dan, Buddy, Rod, Bill, Jerry, Dot, Ruby, Wanda, Lavonne, Gloria, and Martha; and her beloved husband of 47 years, Benjamin Chism.
She is survived by her children, Teresa (Mitchell) Crawford of Moniac, Bryan (Dedra) Chism of Jacksonville, Greg (Amy) Chism of Moniac, and Mike (Rhonda) Chism of Hilliard; grandchildren, April (Clay) Burnsed, Adam (Marci) Chism, Anna (Casey) Hilson, Treva (Clete) Surrency, Heather (Bobby) Khampanh, Hillary (Bruce) Musgrove, Benjamin (Ashley) Chism, Alex (Lissi) Chism, and Brooke Chism; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Raymond (Bernice) Williams and Terry Williams.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Moniac Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Colvin officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, July 13, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Canaday Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Benjamin.
