Gloria Lourdes Andreu

Gloria Lourdes Andreu, 89 of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital. A native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Gloria was the only child of Octavio and Gloria Ortiz Rosado, born on November 5, 1935. She resided in Puerto Rico for the majority of her life until Hurricane Maria in 2017, when she came to live in Jacksonville to be closer to her son.

In her early years, Gloria was a professional dancer. She also worked as a hairstylist and as a secretary. Her most cherished role in life, however, was being “mom”. She loved arts and crafts in her later years, enjoying ceramics, painting, and sewing. Gloria was known for her bubbly, outgoing personality.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Jose Jorge Andreu.

She leaves behind her son, Dr. Wilbert (Misty) Pino of Macclenny; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as a host of close friends and distant relatives.

Final memorialization will be by cremation and Ms. Andreu will be laid to rest in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Jacksonville at a later date.
