Harold Victor Wilson, age 88 earned his wings on November 14, 2025 in Bryceville, Florida. Harold was born December 28, 1936, in a small house in Baldwin, Florida to the late Raymond Veitch Wilson and Estella Hattie Crews.
Harold enjoyed playing basketball and music when work allowed. By age 15 he was working at the ice plant with his Daddy. He would load ice blocks into the Model A and deliver them around Baldwin and surrounding areas.
On October 13, 1955, after 18 days of the 12th grade, Harold joined and served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Istanbul, Turkey for one year before returning stateside to Michigan and working his way down to Valdosta. In addition to his Air Postal duties, he also worked as a projectionist, showing and watching movies and obtained his pilot,s license. While at home on leave, he met and fell in love with the love of his life, the late Malinda Rhoden Wilson, they were married August 13, 1958. Following his military service, they returned to Florida, eventually settling in Bryceville.
He started his civilian career with Westinghouse Electric. He remained at the same location as it transitioned through Eastern Electric, then Grand Eagle, retiring in March 2002.
Harold served others in many ways from being a Sunday School teacher to volunteering for 4 1/2 years as an Officer with the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary. During his time with FHP Auxiliary, he obtained his Law Enforcement Diploma. A few years later he joined the Baldwin Police Department. He even taught driver school.
He has earned many certificates for various trainings in the electrical field and law enforcement, and welding.
Harold enjoyed spending time with his family, cook outs, boating, fishing, camping, traveling and bowling.
Harold was preceded in death by his daughters, Cindy D. Knight of McMinnville, Tennessee, and Cathy D. Wilson of Bryceville, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise(James "Jim") Brady, of Jacksonville, Florida; brother-in-law, James "Jimmy" Greene, of Middleburg, Florida and sister-in-law, Jean Wilson, of Lake City, Florida.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Sherry D. Wilson, Shana D. Wilson, both of Bryceville, Florida; son, Stanley D. Wilson, of Glen St. Mary, Florida; son-in-law, Paul D. Knight, of McMinnville, Tennessee; grandsons, Aaron "Sean" Wilson, of Bryceville, Florida, Thomas Cole, of Cross City, Florida, Steven "Brad" Knight, of McMinnville Tennessee, David Knight, of Rock Island, Tennessee, Jess Allen (Liz) Goshorn, of Bryceville, Florida; granddaughters, Elizabeth "Lisa" (Danny) Wilder, of McMinnville, Tennessee, Heather (Allen) Redmon, of Sparta, Tennessee, Kaylin "Kay" (Trey Raulerson), of Macclenny, Florida; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret Greene, of Middleburg, Florida, Julie (Gary) Van Looven, of Baldwin, Florida, Cathy (Dan) Digrazio, of Garner, North Carolina; brothers, Leroy Wilson, of Lake City, Florida, Raymond "Ray" Wilson, of Baldwin, Florida; and numerous family members and friends.
A special "niece daughter", Sandra "Sue" Everett, Whitehouse, Florida, "like granddaughters", Penny (David) Simmons, McMinnville, Tennessee and Elizabeth "Sissy" (Bryan) Finch, Macclenny, Florida.
The pallbearers will be Sean Wilson, David Knight, Brad Knight, Aaron Wilson, Isaiah Danielowicz and Logan Savage.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 20, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PMin the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery. Bro. Everett Pringle will be officiating.
