Jack Addison Baker, Sr., 87, of Macclenny, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2025. Born July 6, 1938, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, to Levere and Dorothy (Houser) Baker, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who was proud of the time he worked at Kennedy Space Center during the exciting moon launches of the 1960s. He ultimately retired from the Florida Department of Corrections. A man of quiet strength and unwavering integrity, he was deeply devoted to his family and to a life of service.
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa (Alice Weiss) Baker of Yulee; sons, Jack (Robin) Baker Jr. of Macclenny, and Richard Baker of Oceanway; and grandchildren, Jack (Jana) Baker III, Anthony (Kayla) Baker, Victoria Baker, Joseph (Sabrina) Baker, Brandon (Ashley) Gonzalez, Kendall Gonzalez, Sydnee (Jared) Lee, and Andrew Kimble, all of whom were a great source of pride. He also leaves behind twelve great-grandchildren who will carry forward his love and legacy.
A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Baker County Education Foundation.
Arrangements are under the care of Guerry-Forbes Funeral Home.
