Kathryn Kirkpatrick Ritenour

Kathryn Kirkpatrick Ritenour, 80 of Macclenny, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 after an extended illness. Known affectionately as “Katie”, Ms. Ritenour was born on September 15, 1945 to John A. and Opal Mae (Smith) Kirkpatrick in Washington, D.C.

Katie worked for many years as an educator and spent many years at Diboll High School in Diboll, Texas. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. She was an avid fan of Tampa sports teams and enjoyed her evening game shows on television. Katie was an art and history buff as well. She was an attending member at Calvary Baptist Church for more than fifteen years, serving as a Sunday school teacher.

Katie was predeceased by her parents; brothers, John, Michael, and Chris; husband, John David Ritenour; and a son, Terry Michael Hamilton.

She leaves behind two sons, Donald Gene (Mary) Hamilton of Seffner and David Lee Hamilton of Starke; a host of grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Johnston of Macclenny; brother; Michael Kirkpatrick of Toronto, Canada; and a host of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor David Garlick and Rev. Donnie Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
