Kirby Lee O’Steen, III, age 73 of Glen St Mary passed on from this life on Sunday April 27th, 2025 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Kirby was born in Jacksonville, the son of Kirby O’Steen Jr and Erma Isabelle Fox (Harvey) and step father John Fox on December 27, 1951. Kirby was an iron worker for the majority of his adult life and owned and operated his own business in Baker County for over twenty years, Apex Fabrication. Kirby enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing with family and friends in the woods along the St. Mary’s River and in Texas. Above all else Kirby was a proud family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
Kirby was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jonathan O’Steen, Catherine Maxwell and Rebekah O’Steen.
Kirby is survived by his beloved wife Carol O’Steen; one son Kirby “Lee” (Jennifer) O’Steen, IV; and grandchildren, Erin Bridgett and Nathaniel Lee; as well as many friends and extended family members.
A celebration of Mr. O’Steen’s life will be held Friday May 9, 2025 in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral home at 2:00 pm with Royce Vernon officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at North Prong Cemetery.
