Linda Sue Canaday

Linda Sue Canaday, 76 of Baxter passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 with her children by her side. Linda was the daughter of Orbey and Mildred (Gainey) Rhoden, born July 26, 1948. She married the love of her life, JN Canaday on June 17, 1967 and together they share over fifty five years of cherished memories. Linda enjoyed crocheting and sewing and would make clothes and baby blankets for family members and friends. She was always willing to help someone in need. She loved to cook and to be surrounded by her kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ray Rhoden, David Rhoden, and Roy Rhoden; a grandson, Travis Lee Stokes; children, Orbey Riley Rhoden and Nova Theresa Galway; and her beloved husband, JN Canaday.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Manley) Rewis and Melinda Canaday Stokes both of Cuyler; seven grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; sisters, Mary (Jaycee) Newmans of Folkston and Nancy Mayo of Glen St. Mary; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2025 at Baxter Community Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Rev. Fred Raulerson and Rev. Dale Hodges officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at North Prong Cemetery.
