Linda Sue Combs, beloved wife, mother, and our Granny Sue, was called home into the arms of her Savior on October 2, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 82.
Linda Sue was a lifelong resident of Baker County, born on June 26, 1944, to Mr. Fred Conner and Gladys (Dinkins) Walker.
She cherished the life she shared with her beloved husband Ray, with whom she spent 63 beautiful years of love, laughter, and treasured memories
Linda Sue cherished the years she spent working alongside her mother at Northeast Florida Telephone Company, where she proudly dedicated 28 years before retiring. She was also a lifelong and devoted member of Macclenny Church of God.
She found joy in catfishing, traveling, trips to Hobby Lobby, cooking for her family, and celebrating Christmas. She loved decorating her home, and making it warm and welcoming.
Above all, she loved her family!
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edward Ray Combs, and her parents, Fred Conner and Gladys Walker.
She is survived by her three children: Vicki R.Combs, Karen D.Higginbotham, and Edward R. Combs Jr. (Danyle) ; Two brothers, Fred Paul Conner (Grace), Toppy Conner (Elaine). Her eight grandchildren: Robert Yeomans (Kim), Shelley Maurer (Aaron), Brittany Fuller, Shane Norman(Megan), Beyonka Harris (Jarrod), Brandon Combs (Jennifer), Hunter Robinson (Nicole), Paytan Robinson and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Macclenny Church of God with Pastor Gavin Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. She will be laid to rest at Taylor Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Combs, Robert Yeomans, Shane Norman, Aaron Maurer, Hunter Robinson, and Vincent Fuller.
Honorary pallbearers are Jarrod Harris, Freddie Conner, and Mitchell Conner.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the funeral directors and staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home.
