Marjorie Ann Dunn

Mrs. Marjorie Ann Dunn, of Dothan, Alabama and originally of Baker County, Florida,  passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the age of 84. Born in Taylor, Florida on February 6, 1942 to the late Ray Leonard and Athena Raulerson Brown, Mrs. Dunn was a longtime educator. In her thirty years of teaching, she spent over twenty in Henry County, Alabama,  where she instructed science students at Headland High School, as well as at the Adult Education Center in Dothan. Her lengthy career in education allowed her to guide students in Baker County, Atlanta, and Ohio as well. 

With an appreciation for the arts, Mrs. Dunn enjoyed attending plays, going to movies, and was an avid reader. She also very much enjoyed traveling and gardening. 

Mrs. Dunn is survived by her husband: Howard “Ray” Dunn of Dothan; sons: Howard Scott (Mary) Dunn of Statesboro, Georgia and Robert Andrew (Rhiannon) Dunn of Petal, Mississippi; grandchildren: John Porter Dunn, Sierra Hollowell and Cheyenne Hollowell; brother: George Marvin (Penny) Brown of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and sister: Athena Gail Brown of Glen St. Mary, Florida. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Ray Elgene (Evalina) Brown and Marcus Eldyn (Delores) Brown, sisters: Nettie Ruth Brown, Faye Claudine (Berry F., Sr.) Rhoden, and Betty Jaudon (Marvin) Madden; and nephews, Berry F. Rhoden, Jr. and Robert Dean Rhoden.

Funeral services to honor Marjorie's life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 13, 2026 in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home with Reverend George Leslie Dugger officiating. Interment will follow the service at North Prong Cemetery in Sanderson. Mrs. Dunn’s family will receive friends 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, June 12, 2026 at the funeral home.
