Marty Ray Word

Marty Ray Word, 67 of Macclenny, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. Marty was born on August 20, 1957, the son of Harold and Florene (Griffin) Word, Sr. He enjoyed playing music, fishing and spending his free time with his family and friends. Marty could fix just about anything he put his hands on, a real “jack-of-all-trades”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Word, Jr. and Michael Word; daughter, Kristie Harrel; and a grandson, Jesse Gill.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonya Crouch of Jacksonville; stepchildren, Shiela Conley and JL Conley; grandchildren, Ace Harrel, Ethan Gill, and Jessica Gill; siblings, Howard Word, Kathy Pless, Dottie Howard, and Lucie Lightsey; his best friend “Dink” Johnson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
