Obituary

Pauline Ruth Worrel, 73 of Macclenny, passed from this life on Monday, April 21, 2026 after an extended illness. Pauline was born in Raymond, New Hampshire on December 26, 1952. She was the daughter of Willis C. and Ernestine E. (Wilbur) French, Sr.

Pauline was very involved with the VFW Post 7909 and American Legion in Middleburg. She was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2412. She was proud of her country and enjoyed serving those who had served. Pauline loved to travel and was a caring person who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Willis French, Jr., Russell French, and Lewis French; sister, Harriet Wallace; and a grandson.

She is survived by her husband, James Simmons of Macclenny; daughters, Kim Lizak of New Hampshire and Melody Young of Tennessee; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sisters, Alberta, Hope, Sharon, Diane, and Barbara.

A Celebration of Pauline’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Manntown Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Karl Hall officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM.

Hawke M.T. Forbes and the staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home are honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
