Rodney Alton Amburgey, Jr.

Rodney Alton Amburgey, Jr., age 61 of Baldwin, passed from this life on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Rodney was the son of Rodney, Sr. and Barbara (Harper) Amburgey, born in Governor’s Island, New York on December 27, 1964. He would graduate from Sandalwood High School and residing in the Jacksonville area for the majority of his life. He worked for many years as a painter and enjoyed arts and crafts outside of work. He loved listening to music and tinkering around. Rodney was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need and will be remembered as a loving father and son.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Amburgey, Sr. ; mother, Barbara Briscoe; and two siblings.

He is survived by his children, James Amburgey of Baldwin and Amy Amburgey; stepfather, John “Tom” Briscoe, Sr. of Baldwin; and other extended family members and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the funeral directors and staff of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home, Macclenny.
