Ronald Howard Nesler

Ronald Howard Nesler, 67, died after a short illness at Shands Hospital in Gainesville on Saturday July 18, 2026. He was the beloved son of George W. and Charlotte (Frank) Nesler, born on July 7, 1959 in Plainfield , New Jersey.

Ron’s career path spanned may different endeavors from designing refrigeration control systems for large warehouses to creating and running a business selling remote control airplane engines to running a successful retail business with his wife until they both retired and moved to the quiet community of Macclenny over eight years ago. He always made it a point to engage in conversations with anyone he met from the person running the local dump to the random person outside their home when he would drive by in his Mule with his little girl, Daisy.

He had many interests; cooking, gardening, fishing, boating and NFL Football. He was most proud of being a ham radio operator for 50 years. He was always willing to help new people in the field he loved so much.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, George Nesler, Jr. and his step-son Brandon Murphy. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Trena (Hoekenga) Nesler.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Clayton McCormick officiating. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
