Ronnie Dale Jackson, Sr.

Ronnie Dale Jackson, Sr., a veteran of the United States Navy, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Ed Fraser Memorial Hospital, age 90. Born to Clarence and Ruby Jackson in Pine Grove, West Virginia, Ronnie entered the United States Navy upon graduation from high school, where he proudly served his country for nearly nine years. He went to work as a machinist, spending time at the Jacksonville Shipyards and Atlantic Marine, before eventually retiring from BAE after fifty years. Ronnie loved the outdoors, especially hunting, as well as fishing with his brother. He enjoyed riding the dirt roads and looking for rattlesnakes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Oran, Jess, Jim, Carol and Suzie; and his loving wife, Ina Jackson.

He is survived by two children, Ronnie (Deborah) Jackson, Jr. of Macclenny and Linda (James) Alvarez of Raiford; grandchildren, Joseph, Brooke, Jason, Melissa, Jonathan, Andrew, and Toya; as well as twenty great grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings, Butch, Mary, and Pam.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Sapp Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered. The family will briefly receive friends at the cemetery beginning at 9:30 AM.
