Shelton Carter

Mr. Shelton M. Carter, 76, of Macclenny, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Carter was a retired mechanic and a lifelong resident of Baker County who loved fishing and riding through the forest with his son. He is survived by his son: Larry M. (Barbara) Carter of Macclenny; daughters: Betty (Gene) Gomillion of Defuniak Springs, FL, Cyndi (Jerry) Crews of Macclenny, and Alisa (Jason) Carter of Macclenny; step-sons: Steve (Theresa) Dyess and Chris (Shirley) Dyess; brother: Alvin (Clara) Carter of Glen St. Mary; sister: Esther Clemons of Macclenny; twenty grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 17, 2012 at Oak Grove Cemetery with Reverend Albert Starling officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Forbes Funeral Home.
