Summer Nicole Hiers

It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, Summer Nicole Hiers, who left us on November 3, 2026 at the age of 37.

Summer was a bright and beautiful soul. She was a light to everyone who knew her and was loved by so many. She had a rare and gentle gift for making people feel valued and cared for. Her kindness, her laughter, her spicy, yet gentle spirit, touched any endless circle of family and friends. Summer loved her sister and brother and her family with everything in her. Above all else, Summer was a loving mother who cherished her daughter Winter, who was not only her daughter but her best friend whom she loved with all of her heart. Being a mother was her greatest joy and her proudest accomplishment. The deep bond she had for Winter will live on forever. She was also especially close with her niece, Annabelle, with which she shared a deep love and connection.

Summer leaves behind her daughter, Winter Crawford; her soul mate, Avery Allen Crawford; her mother and stepfather, Wendy and Terry Florio; grandmother, June Barton; father and stepmother, Jimbo and Cheryl Hiers; sisters, Heather (Albert) Starling and Lacy Hiers; brother, Terry Allen (Tara) Florio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who Summer loved with all of her heart.

She was preceded in death by her papa, Clifton Barton; uncle, Clifton Barton, Jr.; grandparents, Jimmy and Vivian Hiers and Vivian Teston; and a nephew, Hunter Starling.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Road to Calvary Church with Pastor Doris Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Barton, Trey Raulerson, Alex Starling, Tristian Barton, Bryce Barton, and Brent Barton.
