Wayne Junior Corbett, Cpl. (E-4) United States Marine Corp Veteran, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday, April 27, 2026, age 79. Wayne was the son of Junior and Audrey (Dorman) Corbett, born in Jacksonville on the Naval Base on October 11, 1946.
Wayne joined the Marine Corps and proudly served four years defending his country, including a tour in Vietnam. There, he received a Silver Star Medal for his “extraordinary courage, bold initiative, and selfless devotion to duty” in conflict. Upon returning stateside, Mr. Corbett would finish his time with the Marine Corps working as NAS Jax.
After his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, Wayne went to work for Anheuser Busch, where he remained for thirty three years until his retirement. He enjoyed a private life outside of work and enjoyed being a member of his hunting club in South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Judy Profit Corbett and Diane Corbett; and a step daughter, Stacey Conner.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Scott of Macclenny; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Tony Corbett of Glen St. Mary and Melvin Corbett of Jacksonville; sister, Linda Blackwood of St. Augustine; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM at the funeral home and interment will immediately follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered.
