William John Crockett, Jr., lifelong Baker Countian, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 with his family by his side, age 68. Known best as “Billy”, Mr. Crockett was born to proud parents, William John and Frances Ware Crockett, Sr. on December 31, 1956. He would work for the family business, Crockett Trucking for many years and loved being on the road in his truck. Billy was also a skilled mechanic and known for his dedication to his work.
Billy loved his family above all. He also had a heart for animals. When not working, Billy enjoyed camping and fishing.
He leaves behind his children, William “Billy” (Katie) Crockett, III of Baxter, Marci (Kyle) Crews of Boynton Beach, and Charles (Carlee Kincheloe) of Macclenny; step children, Chad McKinney and Angela Rodriguez both of Tampa; grandchildren, Mason Looby, William Crockett, IV, Wyatt Crockett, Larkin Powell, and Wesley Crockett; brother, Boynton Lee (Alana) Crockett of Macclenny; nieces Tammy (William) Hines and Carmie (James Scott) McInarnay both of Macclenny; aunt, Virginia Carroll; cousin, Susan Brooks; as well as great nieces and nephews and other extended family members and friends.
Mr. Crockett was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Veatrice “Vicky” Crockett.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Guerry Forbes Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Eddy Sanders officiating. The Crockett family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will follow chapel services on Friday at Macedonia Cemetery.
