Mr. William R. Blackburn, age 59 of Glen St. Mary, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018. Born to the late Homer and Mildred Blackburn, in Burnwell, West Virginia and formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, Mr. Blackburn was a resident of Glen St. Mary for the last 32 years. He was a roofer, working in the construction industry for many years. He was avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing. In his free time, he also enjoyed metal-detecting and arrowhead hunting. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and as a loving family man. He is survived by his sons: William (Holly) Dillard of Glen St. Mary, Craig Blackburn of Macclenny, Thomas (Traci) Blackburn of Macclenny, and Joshua (Casey) Blackburn of Colorado; brothers: Homer (Pat) Blackburn of Russelville, Kentucky, Phillip (Wanda) Blackburn of Sanderson, and Darrell (Bonnie) Blackburn of Macclenny; sisters: Judith (Johnny) Mullens of Kentucky, Jennifer (Eddie) Huggins of Glen St. Mary, Joyce McCoy of Greenville, North Carolina, and Mitgelena (Jim) Szabo of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and grandchildren: Elizabeth, Sarah, Samantha, Alex, Ryan, Damien, Kenzi, Rylan, and Camden. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of his life will be held 11:00am, Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Christian Fellowship Temple, Macclenny. The family will receive friends at the Macclenny Moose Lodge following the service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Forbes Funeral Home, 904-259-4600.
